"Gone,
But Not Forgotten" is a low key romance of quiet charm. I predict
that it will become a staple of Queer Cinema DVD libraries,
especially for viewers with romantic souls."

"Gone,
But Not Forgotten" is a heart shaped box of chocolates containing
lots of fruity soft centres and no chewy toffee.

'Tainted
with connotations of soapy melodrama, amnesia is a plot device
screenwriters should approach with great caution. Luckily, writer/director
Michael D. Akers
has a deft touch, and his shoestring-budgeted 'Gone, But Not Forgotten'
gets
beyond the traditional Who am I? Where am I? moments
quickly to take on deeper issues of identity and relationships.'

a
beautifully told gay love story about personal demons,
family acceptance, and the need to be needed.

...the
dialog is bracingly natural, Shaun Cromwell's guitar-based score is lovely,
and there are some very strong scenes in which the actors get to
really flesh out their characters (no pun intended). It's these moments,
as well as the captivating story, that keep us glued. And win us over.

There is something about this little gem that haunts you long after watching
it...
can't quite put my finger on it - maybe it's the fact that the director
keeps
you on the edge of your chair at all times. Perhaps it's the fact that
the story line
isn't quite as predictable as you'd like it to be. Maybe it's just an
overall feeling
of love and lust that holds your interest?
Anyhow, I loved this low-budget film from start to finish.
Yes, I recommend it for your collection.

Gay Films, Rated "Four Rainbows"
Instead
of focusing on homophobia, HIV or some deeper political issue,
'Gone But Not Forgotten' is something of a throw back to a time when films
were called
"motion pictures" and sentiment was not a four letter word.
Without labeling this film,
it is almost as if this were a gender sexual orientation twist on the
"womens pictures"
of older Hollywood. Just imagine the characters switched around and it
is easy
to see this story line working for a straight couple as well as a gay
one.

One
of the first straightforward gay romantic dramas

It's
a hilariously told and brilliantly filmed directing debut for Akers.

Gone
But Not Forgotten successfully blends a serious theme with a
romantic love story. A delightfully arousing love making scene (in front
of a fireplace),
and just enough plot with mystery make it a date movie with a reason to
cuddle and converse afterwards.
Grab your boyfriend and go see this movie.
If you don't have a boyfriend, beg, borrow or rent one if you have to!

This
low budget indie is filled with romance,
two attractive leading men and
a romantic tale hot enough to melt even the coldest heart.

TLA Video
Made on a miniscule budget and shot
on video, Gone But Not Forgotten
is nonetheless an engaging and romantic gay film.
It's nice to have a gay romance that goes somewhere we've never really
seen a film go before and does so in a way that is simply fun and idyllic.

An
admirable indie, this film has much to offer aside from its two attractive
leading
men. A sexy and intriguing love story, Gone But Not Forgotten is
one film to not forget.
-- Austin Gay & Lesbian Int'l Film Festival
[Keven
Renken, Festival Director for Tampa] rolls his eyes remembering festivals
past and one too many films featuring gay men who, tortured about their
sexuality, wind up sleeping with women. Renken chuckles, joking that it
sometimes seems moviegoers stand a better chance of seeing straight sex
than gay sex at a gay film festival. "One of my goals for this year
was to try to find films that really expressed gay sexuality," says
Renken, "and I think we got a few films that do that." He mentions
a handful, like Bulgarian Lovers and Gone But Not Forgotten.
